Overview

‘#Give it a go’ this Healthy Eating Week 2024

The campaign is supported by British Nutrition Foundation and highlights good practices in food and drink in social and healthcare around the world. Good nutrition and hydration are important to maintain good physical and mental health and well-being. Having a variety of foods from the main food groups (carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables, high protein foods and dairy and alternatives) ensures we get all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients we need.

It is an opportunity to provide a focus and raise the profile of healthy lifestyle around our families, communities and networks. To make healthy eating as part of our everyday routine a personal choice to embrace a specific self-care action. Whether that means having one extra portion of fruit or vegetables a day, being a bit more active, experimenting with a new recipe or using up leftovers - Healthy Eating Week 2024 is all about giving it a go!

We are asking people to join our campaign and encourage everyone to share your #GiveItAGo around 5 themes below. If you are thinking of making a change to your diet/lifestyle then this is an exciting time to #GiveItAGo

Have a think around these 5 key themes:

· Get at least a portion of fruit or vegetable A Day

· Stay hydrated

· Move more

· Experimenting a recipe

· Reduce food waste- using leftover

You can do this by sharing your bitesize video (about 20 seconds) or a picture with a blurb (max 120 words). We will be sharing this on social media. Please send this to nagabza@aberdeencity.gov.uk no later than June 3rd May 2024.

We are encouraging everyone to take part either with your personal or organisations social media account and help to raise awareness in your community and network! For this, you can share #GiveItAGo and tag us on social media; ACHSCP Facebook  and ACHSCP TWITTER

All of the responses will be gathered and  shared during the Healthy Eating Week 2024 (10th June- 14th June 2024) #GiveItAGo campaign across our Aberdeen City HSCP affiliated social media accounts. Please look out for the posts on our @Aberdeen City HSCP social media account during the week.

We look forward to hearing from you!!
