Your Journey - 2018

Overview

Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Nestrans and RGU are working together on a European Union Funded project which aims to improve access to, and awareness of, different transport choices in the city.  We would like to know how many journeys take place within Aberdeen City and which are of a walkable or cycleable distance, and which modes of transport people are picking and why.  We also want to know where people are going from and to so we can see if there are any potential corridors that people are picking particular transport modes on. 

If you are over the age of 16 and you have a journey of up to 10km to work or study, which starts and/or ends in the Aberdeen City Council area, we want to hear from you!

The Civitas Portis European Project involves cities which have ports close to their city centre and encourages these cities to look at ways to encourage sustainable transport in the city and the hinterland with the challenges of a busy working harbour.

Why do we need your information?

Aberdeen City Council collects this information about you in this form in order to better understand commuting patterns to assist with future infrastructure planning. As part of the survey we will require the full postcode of the origin and destination points of your journey. This information will be stored on the Aberdeen City Council Citizen Space account and we will keep this information for up to 12 months from the date of the survey closing. It will be used to inform an “Origin and Destination” study which is being undertaken by a consultant on behalf of the Council.

The Council will share the information you provide with their chosen consultant following a procurement exercise due to be completed after the consultation. The consultant will analyse the data and the results will be used to inform the Origin and Destination study. 

The Council does not use an automated process for making decisions about you or the services you require.

 Your Information, Your Rights

 You’ve got legal rights about the way the Council handles and uses your data, which include the right to ask for a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it and to ask us to stop doing something with your data.
