Developing an Electric Vehicle Framework for Aberdeen

Overview

The Scottish Government has committed to phasing out the need for new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2032. Encouraging a switch to Electric Vehicles (EVs) is seen as one of the ways in which this can be achieved.

The Council has been working with funders and partners since 2011 to roll out EV charge points across Aberdeen in line with Scottish Government policy and to promote and encourage the introduction EVs. There are also many other EV charge points across the city that are not controlled by the Council.

The Council is seeing an increasing interest from members of the public in electric vehicles and demand for existing charge points as well as demand for new charge points in other locations. To inform future introduction of EV charging infrastructure, and to establish how the Council can help further encourage a switch to EVs, the Council has commissioned consultants Arcadis to undertake an EV Framework for us which will guide the Councils plans for the next 5-10 years.

Why your views matter

We want to know what you think we should consider in the development of an EV framework to cater for growing EV uptake across Aberdeen for the next 5 to 10 years. Your feedback will inform the development of the framework.  The survey is available for completion until 24 January 2020.

Why do we need your information?

Aberdeen City Council collects personal information from you. You have the option as part of this survey to enter your name and e-mail address as part of your submission. If you choose to enter your email address then you will automatically receive an acknowledgement email when you submit your response. The Council does not use an automated process for making decisions about you or the services you require.
