Developing an Electric Vehicle Framework for Aberdeen

Overview

The Council has been working with funders and partners since 2011 to roll out Electric Vehicle (EV) charge points across Aberdeen in line with Scottish Government policy. There are also many other EV chargepoints across the city that are not controlled by the Council.

The Council is seeing an increasing demand for existing charge points as well as demand for new charge points in other locations. To inform future introduction of EV charging infrastructure, a strategic appraisal of how EV charging infrastructure could be increased across Aberdeen has been carried out and a Draft EV Framework and supporting Evidence Base and Baseline Report have been produced.

Why your views matter

Back in January 2020, we held a public consultation to find out what you thought should be contained in an EV Framework. Following these comments, we have now developed a draft EV Framework. This has been backed up by an extensive Evidence Base and Baseline Report.

Both documents are now available for public consultation and we would like to know your views. They can each be downloaded below. 

The draft EV Framework will inform growing the EV uptake across Aberdeen for the next 5 to 10 years. Your feedback will inform the Final Framework. The survey is available for completion until 11 October 2020.
