Draft Refreshed South Locality Plan 2021-26

Closed 25 Feb 2024

Opened 5 Feb 2024

Community Planning Aberdeen (CPA) is the strategic partnership for public, private and third sector organisations working together and with communities to improve outcomes across the City. Our shared Aberdeen City Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP) sets out a vision for Aberdeen as 'a place where all people can prosper' regardless of a person's background or circumstances

This draft plan sets out how we will make this vision a reality for the South Locality of the City. The plan was first published in July 2021 and has been refreshed in 2024 to ensure it remains relevant and focussed on South Locality priorities.

It complements the City Wide LOIP which is also out for consultation and you are encouraged to look at these plans together.

Why your views matter

In October 2023, we consulted the public on what should be included in the LOIP through our 'Your Neighbourhood, Your City, Your Plans: What Matters To You' engagement. We used the Place Standards Tool to ask residents of Aberdeen to rate their place across 14 themes that covered a broad range of both physical and social characteristics that make up a good place. For each theme we asked you to add comments on what is good now and what could be improved. You can view the engagement results full and summary reports at https://communityplanningaberdeen.org.uk/loip-and-locality-plan-refresh/

This draft refreshed plan reflects our understanding of what is important to communities on basis of data and insights and what we believe to be our priorities for partnership working. Members of the community involved with the Locality Empowerment Groups and Priority Neighbourhood Partnerships have been engaged throughout the development process.

This consultation gives all citizens the opportunity to comment on the draft plan before it is considered by the Community Planning Aberdeen Board on 29th April 2024.

What happens next

We will use your feedback to finalise our plan and take forward our improvement work. The Locality Plan is a high level document, so some detailed feedback might be more visable in how we are taking forward the ideas within the plan. The refreshed plan will be considered by the Community Planning Aberdeen Board on 29th April 2024 for approval.

We would love you to get involved in helping test the ideas within the South Locality Plan. There are many ways you can do this. Please contact localityplanning@aberdeencity.gov.uk to express your interest.
